This was Colton's first race, he got 2nd and didn't have to race again until the finals!
I didn't take pics of the finals but what a heartbreaker to watch. Colton was in 2nd but was cutting in on the last turn, he caught up to the 1st place rider and he had it...until the 3rd place rider came up from behind, turned the corner and ran into Colton and they both crashed as the riders kept going, both kids started crying in disappointment but got up and finished the race with tears rolling down their cheeks! You can't teach the "heart" of racing or athletics, we are so proud of our nephew and wish him the best of luck today (Sunday) for the BIG finals!!! We love you buddy.
